IR169: Island Retreat 169

We were in this unit at Thanksgiving last year and rerented it for our extended family get together. Nice floor plan with very spacious kitchen and good refrigerator with great ice maker and water filter. Master and back bedroom mattresses fine but bunk bedroom mattress slants to center and front cubby mattress lumpy also. Living room sectional is a bit broken down as well. We liked the big dining table so we can eat together.The toilet seat in the hall bathroom is not anchored and slips around.Being towards the end of the complex makes it quieter and with less traffic.

Enjoyed the stay at Island Retreat. The best part was that we were able to rent units next door to other family members so that we were all close together. The unit has an issue with the front door sticking, so that you had to pull hard to open and slam hard to close. This should be repaired! Other than that, the unit was good. Minor issue was limited amenities (no salt/pepper, very dull knives, limited silverware, limited glasses/wine glasses, and limited plates/bowl. But we were able to make due and had a great time!

This was and amazing condo. We had a girls trip 5 ladies. We booked through Life in Paradise Vacation & Golf Cart Rentals 361-749-7206 spoke with Felipe he was hands down amazing. Help me find the right place within our budget. This condo had more than enough room for all of us it backed up to the sand dunes which gave us privacy and made us feel like we had the place to ourselves. With a short walk to the beach. Condo had all the dishes and cookware we needed. And the most comfortable couch! I cannot rave enough about how beautiful the condo was pictures really don't do it justice. We had our Meadows family Thanksgiving this weekend (renting 5 rooms total). While only 6 slept in this condo, the room was terrific as the eating/living room space accommodated all 24 who attended the meal. We used the three main bedrooms, which were great. The only drawback was the 4th “bedroom” as you entered the unit. The bed needs replacement as the box spring was broken and the bed has a bad sag in the middle (we didn't use this room for sleeping, only as storage).

We loved this condo! We've stayed at Island Retreat a few times before and always love it, but this was a special property celebrating our 38th anniversary. It is roomy and lovely and has everything you need. My only suggestion is updating the television to a Smart TV and adding one in the master bedroom. We went out and bought a streaming device to have all we are used to at home. Even a Roku would be an inexpensive addition to the television. Other than that, we loved everything about it!

Overall we had a great stay! The photos not do justice as this unit is very spacious and nicely set up. There was more than enough space for our family of 9 to eat and hang out. The bathrooms are spacious too. There was more than enough pots and pans, cups, plates, bowls and silverware. They made it convenient by having cooking utensils, a small vacuum and a broom available, in addition a small stackable washer and dryer that was very clean. The added bonus with the 4th room. The walk to the boardwalk was not too far and there was a shower to rinse off. The pool is also close. The only reason I did not give it a 5 is because instead of my teens not being able to enjoy the bunk beds they both (17) had to sleep on the bottom together because it was in very wobbly. It was even too wobbly for my 3 and 9 year old. The room with 2 beds had no dresser to store your clothes either so you either have to hang them or keep them in your travel case.

Overall a nice place to stay. Pretty decor and excellent views of the dunes. Bedrooms were spacious. Back bedroom with 2 queen beds was a good 5 degrees warmer than the others. Kitchen had ample dishes and cookware. BUT no cutting board and the water from the kitchen faucet would never get even remotely warm.

IR169 was a perfect vacation rental for our family. Well kept condo with all the comforts of home. Conveniently located to all of the local hot spots and an easy walk or golf cart ride to the beach. I highly recommend IR169.

I took the kids here for their senior trip. There were eight of us. The place was very spacious and clean. The only things that I would suggest to the owners would be to put chairs out on the back porch and put TVs in the bedrooms. The location is perfect; there is a pool right across from the building and the boardwalk just outside the unit. We will definitely be coming back to stay there again.

The condo was amazing. The weather, not so much. But I had a wonderful weekend and will definitely come back.

Loved the set-up of the condo. Big kitchen area for cooking and hanging out. Nice, short walk to the beach. Plenty of beds to accommodate the entire family. 2 nice sized bathrooms. We loved the size and comfort of the couch! We all fit with plenty of room to watch movies :).

We loved unit #169. It was close to pool and the back patio was looking at the dunes. Not a far walk to beach and we enjoyed the pool. The condo itself was updated and very nice. Very spacious condo. We will definitely be back!
