IR25: Island Retreat 25

The location for the Island Retreat Resort is hard to beat. We enjoyed the gulf view from our porch and taking the boardwalk right to the beach. Though the building is a little older, it was clean, convenient to downtown, and nicely decorated. The office staff was friendly and ensured we had a pleasant stay!

The place was great! Amazing last minute find. The only reason for 4 stars is the quality of the bed we didn't sleep great at all.

Island Retreat was a great little place to stay for our 3 day beach vacation. Our corner unit was right next to the boardwalk to the beach. Super convenient as we didn't really want to get a car permit to park on the beach. The condo was nicely appointed. The rug in the living area definitely needs to be changed out. It was stained with black marks everywhere which I assume is beach tar. There were also big chunks of beach tar stuck to the kitchen floor adjacent to the rug (which I assume is where the black marks on the rug come from.) Overall it was a nice place to stay it just needs a little cleaning TLC.

We loved our stay at the Island Retreat. Sabre saved our short stay in Port A. We were at another place and it was terrible so I called to find another place and she found the perfect place! It was clean, perfect location and very roomy!

We had a great time! We loved our unit and it was well stocked. We will stay at this unit again!

There is simply no better place to stay than Island Retreat in Port A! This family-friendly condo complex has a beautiful courtyard with grounds that are continuously being cared for and upgraded, a couple of pools, a basketball court, a tennis court, and a boardwalk straight to the beach. IR 25 is awesome! It's completely updated with a spacious kitchen, two bedrooms, two bathrooms, one of which boasts an incredible shower in the master bathroom, and a cozy and comfortable living area. The back porch even includes a glimpse of the Gulf! I could watch the waves roll in while sipping coffee in the morning or an ice cold drink in the afternoon. And the first floor makes it easy to haul all your personal belongings in and out. We have been staying at Island Retreat for many years and will keep coming back for more fun and memories. For us, it's a family tradition!

Our family of four enjoyed our stay here. It was a great location to the beach! It was a great walking path down there, we loved the closeness and the sounds of the ocean. The patio was perfect too! Chairs were comfy and gave us a nice spot to dump all our beach stuff and knock sand off before going inside. The accommodations were nice and had just about everything you'd need! Kitchen was well stocked with the exception of a can opener and bakeware. I'm sure most people don't use the oven much, but we like to eat at home vs out at places for every meal. I would have loved to have had a broom or at least a small dustpan. It's inevitable you'll get sand inside, and I wanted to sweep so badly. The couch could probably use an update as it's been used and loved a lot. It was comfy, but sagged in the center, not the end of the world. The additional chairs in the living room were comfy and loved the rocking ones! The whole place is decorated in a very tasteful manner and is inviting. We enjoyed our stay, and it made our vacation that much better.

This is a perfect location if you have a golf cart or not. Walk to the beach over the board walk. Drive to restaurants and stores. We had no issues during our stay. The condo has comfortable furniture and beds. Plenty of bath towels. The only thing I couldn’t find was a dust pan or some wash cloths. The coffee maker was a small 4 cup. It really does need a large one. But, we would be happy to stay in #25 again. Thank you!

This condo is in the perfect location! It’s close enough to everything you need stores, shops, restaurants but also right on the beach with a beautiful view from the patio (especially at sunrise). .The condo is up to date, clean, spacious an fully stocked with everything you need in the kitchen and bathrooms. We enjoyed the pool and BBQ’s on the property too! Highly recommend to anyone looking for a nice quiet getaway.

Whenever we take a vacation to Port Aransas, we always stay at Island Retreat! Many of the condos are updated and the staff is friendly and helpful. Unit 25 is beautiful, clean, has a nice glimpse of the Gulf from the porch, and there is easy access to beach via the boardwalk over the sand dunes. We can't wait for our next vacation and stay at Island Retreat.

Loved the property. Second time there. Unit 25 very nice. Only thing was the lack of some basic housekeeping things. No coffee filters, no broom/mop, sponges to clean dishes and counters. We bought those on our own. At the previous unit these were provided. I did call it in and the person who answered the phone did'nt seem too concerned. Otherwise a super stay and we will be back next year.

This condo was perfect for my grandchildren. Bottom floor, end unit, couldn’t have picked more perfect. The unit was clean and very well stocked with anything you would need. We look forward to staying here again.
